About Dr Martin Lowe
BSc MB BS PhD FRCP

Dr Lowe is a highly respected consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist with more than three decades’ experience. Specialising in the treatment of arrhythmias in adults and children with catheter ablation and pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, he works at The Harley Street Clinic and Portland Hospital, London, both part of HCA Healthcare UK.

After studying medicine at St George’s Hospital, London, he completed his specialist training in London and Cambridge, before undertaking a Research Fellowship at The Mayo Clinic, USA.

Martin has been a leading force in the UK’s arrhythmia services, through his work with the British Heart Rhythm Society and as Clinical Director at the Barts Heart Centre in London. His research interests include ablation strategies for patients with arrhythmias accompanying congenital heart disease and heart muscle disease, risk stratification in patients and families predisposed to sudden cardiac death, and multisite pacing in heart failure patients.

Martin is passionate about sharing his vast experience, he’s actively involved in the education of trainees in the field, and is honorary senior lecturer at University College London and Queen Mary University London. His work is widely published in peer-reviewed journals.
